Eric Ning c71895f63b [codex] app-server: expose plugin install policy source (#31293)
## Summary

- Add `PluginInstallPolicySource` to the app-server v2 `PluginSummary`
payload.
- Propagate remote `installation_policy_source` through plugin
summaries, details, installed-plugin caching, and app-server responses.
- Preserve the supported source values and map unrecognized backend
values to `null`.
- Return `null` for local plugins and expose the field in generated JSON
and TypeScript schemas.
- Update app-server API documentation and plugin list/read coverage.

## Testing

- `just test -p codex-app-server-protocol` (251 passed)
- Targeted `codex-app-server` plugin list, installed, and read tests (4
passed)
- Targeted `codex-core-plugins` known and unknown policy source tests (2
passed)
- `just fmt`
- `git diff --check`

Eric Ning bf7148626b [codex] fetch featured IDs for remote plugins (#29485)
## Summary

- fetch featured plugin IDs when the loaded catalog includes
`openai-curated-remote`
- extend the existing remote marketplace regression test to cover the
featured IDs response

## Why

When the remote plugin catalog was enabled, app-server loaded
`openai-curated-remote` but skipped `/plugins/featured` because the
request processor only fetched featured IDs for the local
`openai-curated` marketplace. As a result, the desktop app could not
render the backend-curated remote featured set.

This keeps the existing local behavior and also returns the curated
ranking for remote plugins.

## Test plan

- `just fmt`
- `git diff --check`
- `just test -p codex-app-server

Eric Ning 29eb434bc5 [codex] Remove hardcoded app ID filters (#28947)
## Summary

- remove the duplicated originator-specific connector ID denylists
- stop filtering connector directory/accessibility results and
live/cached Codex Apps MCP tools by hardcoded connector ID
- remove the now-unused `codex-login` dependency from
`codex-utils-plugins`
- update regression coverage so formerly blocked connector IDs are
preserved

## Why

The client-side policy was duplicated across crates, used opaque IDs
without ownership or expiry information, and could drift between app
listing and MCP tool behavior. Server-provided visibility,
authorization, plugin discoverability, accessibility, enabled-state
handling, and consequential-tool approval templates remain unchanged.

## Validation

- `just fmt`
- `just bazel-lock-update`
- `just bazel-lock-check`
- `git diff --check`
- confirmed the final diff contains no hardcoded denylist symbols

A targeted `codex-mcp` test build spent an unusually long time in local
compilation/linking. Its first attempt exposed a test-only `PartialEq`
assertion issue, which was corrected. A follow-up non-linking `cargo
check -p codex-mcp --tests` was still running when this draft was
opened; CI should provide the complete Rust validation.

Eric Ning 709f19e111 [codex] Add created-by-me remote plugin marketplace (#28203)
## Summary
- add the `created-by-me-remote` marketplace backed by paginated
`scope=USER` plugin directory and installed-plugin requests
- include USER plugins in installed-plugin caching, bundle sync, and
stale-cache cleanup without client-side discoverability filtering
- expose the marketplace through app-server v2 and regenerate the
protocol schemas

## Testing
- `cargo build -p codex-app-server --bin codex-app-server`
- production-auth `plugin/list` smoke test for `created-by-me-remote`
(returned the expected USER plugin as installed and enabled)
- `just test -p codex-core-plugins` (221 passed)
- `just test -p codex-app-server-protocol` (231 passed)
- `just test -p codex-app-server suite::v2::plugin_list::` (37 passed)
- `just fix -p codex-core-plugins -p codex-app-server-protocol -p

Eric Ning 9600afb1a1 [codex] expose remote plugin share URL (#27890)
## Summary

- expose the remote plugin detail endpoint's `share_url` as nullable
`PluginDetail.shareUrl`
- preserve existing `PluginSummary.shareContext` behavior for local and
workspace sharing flows
- regenerate the app-server TypeScript and JSON schema fixtures

## Why

The remote plugin detail response already includes a canonical
`share_url`, but that value was not surfaced by `plugin/read` for global
plugins. Global plugins intentionally have no `shareContext`, so using
that model for the URL would change the semantics consumed by the
existing share modal.

## User impact

Codex clients can use `PluginDetail.shareUrl` for a remote plugin's
copy-link action, including when the plugin is disabled by an
administrator, without changing existing share-modal or ownership
behavior.

## Validation

- `cargo test -p codex-app-server
plugin_read_includes_share_url_for_admin_disabled_remote_plugin`
- `cargo test -p codex-app-server-protocol
typescript_schema_fixtures_match_generated`
- `cargo test -p codex-app-server-protocol

- `cargo fmt --all`

Eric Ning 769c231aa1 fix(app-server): expose remote MCP servers in plugin read (#26453)
## Why

Remote plugin detail responses include MCP server metadata under
`release.mcp_servers`, but Codex did not deserialize or propagate that
field. As a result, `plugin/read` always returned an empty `mcpServers`
list for remote plugins, so the plugin details pane omitted the MCP
Servers section even when the remote plugin declares one.

This affects uninstalled plugins as well: the remote detail API is the
source of truth and returns MCP server keys without requiring a local
plugin bundle.

## What changed

- Deserialize MCP server entries from remote plugin detail responses.
- Normalize their keys into a sorted, deduplicated list on
`RemotePluginDetail`.
- Return those keys from app-server `plugin/read` instead of hardcoding
an empty list.
- Add regression coverage proving an uninstalled remote plugin returns
its MCP server names.

## Test plan

Eric Ning aeac226d16 Preserve remote plugin default prompts (#25887)
## Summary

- Read `default_prompts` from remote plugin release metadata.
- Prefer the plural prompt list over legacy `default_prompt`.
- Fall back to `default_prompt` as a single-item list for backward
compatibility.

Eric Ning e929bb5c88 [codex] Update remote connector suggestions (#25172)
## Summary

- Use the session-loaded plugin app IDs as the source of connector
suggestion candidates.
- Remove the redundant plugin reload from
`tool_suggest_connector_ids()`.
- Add regression coverage for connectors declared by a loaded remote
plugin, using the Databricks app case.

## Context

Loaded remote plugins can declare app connector IDs in `.app.json`. The
session-owned `PluginsManager` already loads those plugins and exposes
their effective app IDs.

The connector suggestion path was creating a separate `PluginsManager`
and recomputing plugin app IDs. That new manager does not share the
session manager’s remote installed plugin cache, so app IDs from loaded
remote plugins were missing from connector suggestions.

## Fix

Pass the already-loaded effective app IDs into connector suggestion
generation and use them directly as the plugin-derived connector
candidate set.

Connector candidates are now built from:

- App IDs declared by loaded plugins
- Explicitly configured connector discoverables
- Existing disabled-suggestion filtering

This avoids a second plugin-manager lookup and keeps connector
suggestions aligned with the plugins actually loaded for the turn.

## Behavior

For example, when a plugin is loaded and its `.app.json` declares data
apps, `list_available_plugins_to_install` can now return those data
connectors.

This does not create plugin suggestions from the plugin itself. Plugin
suggestions still come from eligible uninstalled entries in the
marketplace catalog and require existing matching/filtering rules.

## Validation

- `just fmt`
- Added regression coverage for a loaded-plugin connector ID appearing
in discoverable tools
- Attempted `just test -p codex-core`; the command exited unsuccessfully
in the local test environment without useful failure detail captured in
the run output
