## Why Remote compaction did not charge retained file audio against its token budget, allowing audio-heavy history to exceed the intended limit. ## What changed - Charge file audio using `FILE_AUDIO_TOKENS_ESTIMATE`, independently of image budgeting. - Retain the newest media content that fits, keeping images and audio together with their adjacent labels and preserving content annotations. Stop at oversized media instead of backfilling older content. - Share media-label detection with user-input event mapping. - Add download timeouts and a Debian mirror fallback for the musl build's `libcap` source archive. ## Testing Add unit coverage for audio budgeting in both image-budget modes, atomic media labels, and truncation boundaries. Add integration coverage showing that compaction retains the newest five of seven file-audio items within the retained-message budget, including a mixed-media case. codex-protocol
This crate defines the "types" for the protocol used by Codex CLI, which includes both "internal types" for communication between codex-core and codex-tui, as well as "external types" used with codex app-server.
This crate should have minimal dependencies.
Ideally, we should avoid "material business logic" in this crate, as we can always introduce Ext-style traits to add functionality to types in other crates.
