Felipe Coury 111362a6a0 Add a keyboard shortcut menu for presets (#54381)
## What changed

Replace the `/presets` recall picker with a responsive menu above the composer. Press `0`–`9` to run a saved preset or create one in an empty slot; use `n`, `s`, `e`, and `d` to create, start from current settings, edit, and delete presets.

Add `tui.keymap.chat.open_presets` with an implicit `leader p` shortcut that yields to existing bindings and explicit configuration. Show the action in `/keymap` and add a shortcut tooltip.

Preserve the composer draft, respect popup ownership, and consume held-key repeats after menu actions.

## Testing

Add snapshots for empty, populated, and narrow preset menus, plus coverage for draft preservation, cancellation, held-key handling, transcript search precedence, and default shortcut conflicts.

Felipe Coury 21c1616119 Support Command/Super shortcuts in the TUI keymap (#53754)
## What changed

- Accept `super` modifiers and normalize `cmd` and `command` aliases to `super`. Support capturing, displaying, and using these bindings in shortcuts, chords, and leaders.
- Add `super-left`, `super-right`, and `super-backspace` editor defaults for moving to the start or end of a line and deleting to its start.
- Honor safe Super-modified editor shortcuts during startup without treating them as text or inserting a pending paste newline.
- Save keymap edits through `config/value/write` when connected to a local daemon so it can validate bindings before they are saved or applied. Preserve the configuration and active keymap if the daemon rejects the edit.

## Testing

Add coverage for modifier aliases, shortcut capture and labels, chords and leaders, line editing, startup input, and daemon acceptance or rejection of keymap edits. Extend the startup PTY test with Command editing sequences.

Felipe Coury cc7ba33601 Add a searchable /config preferences panel to the TUI (#52990)
## What changed

- Group preferences into Appearance, Notifications, Input, Sessions, and Text selection tabs, with search and links to existing theme, status line, terminal title, and keyboard editors.
- Persist preference changes to the selected local configuration file, apply supported changes immediately, and show save errors, configuration overrides, and restart requirements in the panel.
- Add a delayed notification test and controls for notification timing while preserving custom event filters.
- Add `tui.copy_on_select_clear_selection`, disabled by default, to clear transcript selection highlights only after confirmed automatic clipboard delivery.
- Keep local configuration editors usable while disconnected and prevent held activation keys or buffered input from triggering actions across editor and reconnect transitions.

## Testing

Add regression tests and rendering snapshots for panel navigation, search, dependency states, editor handoffs, offline persistence, notification timers, custom filter preservation, and confirmed-copy deselection.

Felipe Coury a3f3b44cd8 Add configurable persistent leader shortcuts to the TUI (#52273)
## What changed

- Add `tui.keymap.global.leader`, defaulting to `ctrl-x`, and symbolic bindings such as `leader c` that follow the configured prefix. The default prefix yields to existing custom shortcuts and chord prefixes.
- Keep leader shortcut hints open until completion or cancellation, while ordinary chords retain their one-second timeout. Pressing `esc` or repeating the leader cancels the pending shortcut.
- Add leader configuration and a `Use leader...` capture option to `/keymap`, with resolved shortcut labels and conflict validation.
- Cancel pending chords when input targets change, on paste or focus loss, and on mouse actions other than movement.
- Move the default voice mute shortcut from `ctrl-x` to `f9` and update its tests and displayed hints.

Eric Traut 7298a6e020 Add shared task pinning to the agent command center (#51500)
## What changed

- Use `p` to pin or unpin the selected task, with a configurable `agents.toggle_pin` binding.
- Display pinned tasks first in a `Pinned` group, preserving shared section order and applying search and status filters.
- Load pins from the shared thread section, including tasks outside the recent-task window, and refresh after pin changes. Disable pinning when the server does not support shared sections.

## Testing

Add coverage for shared pin/unpin state, paginated pin discovery and refreshing pins on reopen, shortcut dispatch and duplicate-action suppression, and pinned-group and custom-help snapshots.

Eric Traut f88a6efe43 Honor configured keybindings before transcript navigation (#50389)
## Why

Transcript selection can consume a configured composer shortcut such as `ctrl-space`, preventing it from submitting a prompt or steering a running turn.

## What changed

Let explicitly configured shortcuts for active actions take precedence over transcript key handling when no transcript interaction is active. Include global binding fallbacks, while preserving empty `Enter` returning to the latest transcript content and default `PageUp` scrolling.

## Testing

Add regression coverage for `ctrl-space` submission with idle and running turns, default `PageUp` scrolling, and empty `Enter` returning to latest with composer or global submit bindings.

Benjamin Carlsson d2f2c40095 Use platform-specific modifier labels in TUI shortcut hints (#49804)
## What changed

Render Control, Shift, and Alt as `⌃`, `⇧`, and `⌥` on macOS, and Control as `^` on Linux. Keep textual modifier labels on other platforms.

Route hard-coded shortcut hints through the shared key-label formatter so footers, overlays, pickers, and transcript notices use consistent notation.

## Testing

Update modifier-combination and chord label assertions, along with rendering snapshots and narrow-layout expectations for the shorter hints.

Eric Traut d42056091a Add a fork shortcut to the TUI command center (#49517)
## What changed

- Fork the selected conversation and open the new session with `f`, configurable through `agents.fork` in the TUI keymap.
- Move the default search shortcuts to `F3` and `/`, preserving unshadowed defaults when custom bindings conflict.
- Keep queued input on the source conversation while attaching and forking, and require closing an open side conversation before forking another task.
- Expose the fork action in command-center help and the keymap picker.

## Testing

Add regression coverage for queued-input preservation, side-conversation protection, configurable fork shortcuts, metadata editing, disconnected actions, and search fallback bindings. Update help and keymap snapshots.

## What changed

Render macOS Option shortcuts as `⌥t` and `ctrl+⌥t` instead of `⌥+t` and `ctrl+⌥+t`. Keep `+` separators after text modifier labels such as `ctrl`, `shift`, and `alt`.

## Testing

Update key-label and chord assertions and UI snapshots to expect the compact labels across shortcut help, navigation hints, and tooltips.

Eric Traut 72ec34ee9a Route TUI voice controls through the app (#47380)
## What changed

- Handle voice toggle and mute shortcuts in `App`, and route `/voice`, `/voice stop`, and `/voice mute` through thread-scoped events that ignore requests for a different current thread.
- Allow function-key voice toggle bindings and chords beyond chat, including transcript browsing and search, while preserving existing surface bindings and raw key capture.
- Exit transcript browsing when toggling voice, avoid matching completed chords again, and preserve startup submission handling before dispatch.

## Testing

Add regression coverage for voice chords outside chat, binding conflicts, key capture, transcript browsing, mute dispatch, and startup submission cancellation with draft preservation.

Eric Traut 93b44c3a73 Streamline agent command-center shortcuts and layout (#46882)
## What changed

- Group shortcut help into Navigate, Tasks, and View sections using the shared shortcut renderer, adapting to one, two, or three columns and indicating when more height is needed.
- Show movement hints in the footer, move the new-worktree hint into help, and remove the idle search row. Give task-list column headers consistent styling.
- Change the default task-deletion binding from `Delete` to `Backspace`, while preserving text editing in search and rename inputs.

## Testing

Add snapshots for responsive help layouts, custom bindings, and active search. Add regression coverage for `Backspace` editing without deleting tasks, and update keymap conflict tests for the new default.

Eric Traut 6b0a1a8325 Add a warning footer and dedicated warnings viewer to the TUI (#46751)
## Why

Keep diagnostics accessible without adding warning rows to the live conversation or changing the composer layout.

## What changed

- Show a deduplicated warning count in the passive footer, yielding to interactive hints.
- Open warning details with `F2`, `/warnings`, or a click on the warning notice. Support navigation, scrolling, and copying individual diagnostics while preserving the draft.
- Retain startup, runtime, MCP, and deprecation diagnostics in the full transcript. Group MCP details by server and preserve warnings during replay.
- Respect existing custom bindings and chord prefixes when enabling `F2`.
- Show an immediate explanation when `/pets` is unavailable.

## Testing

Add regression tests and snapshots for warning counts, draft preservation, viewer navigation and copying, narrow layouts, terminal scrollback, and keybinding conflicts.

Eric Traut de6ae71ad4 Stabilize transcript and composer interactions in the TUI (#46749)
## Why

Composer suggestions and transient hints should preserve the draft and transcript context. Submitting a local command while reading older history should reveal its output.

## What changed

- Separate persistent status from transient footer hints in the owned transcript, sharing layout calculations for rendering, measurement, and cursor placement.
- Overlay command and mention suggestions on history without moving the composer; hide retained suggestions while transcript interactions own input.
- Show responsive, grouped shortcut help above the composer and let `Esc` dismiss it before interrupting a task or navigating history.
- Resume transcript following for submissions, slash commands, and last-response copy results while preserving the reading position during background updates.
- Reset transcript interaction state after prompt reverts and refresh retained usage information without rewriting terminal history.

## Testing

Add regression tests and snapshots for popup placement, clipped layouts, footer focus, shortcut dismissal, local-command scrolling, prompt reverts, and pagination while browsing prompts.

Eric Traut 551844b3ef Add compact transcript browsing and prompt navigation to the TUI (#46739)
## What changed

- Make double `Esc` enter compact prompt browsing in the owned transcript view and inline overlay. Use left/right arrows to select prompts, up/down arrows to scroll, `Ctrl+T` to toggle details, and `Enter` to rewind and edit. `Esc` cancels browsing and restores the original reading position and presentation.
- Add a responsive browsing footer, a pinned prompt header for answer context, and contextual composer tips that respect `show_tooltips` and configured shortcuts.
- Load older history as prompt navigation needs it, preserve the selected prompt across pagination, and resolve rewind requests by cell identity. Reject remote prompt restoration when it contains local image paths or command syntax.
- Bound initial owned-transcript history loading to a budget of three screenfuls plus an item scan limit, independently of terminal scrollback settings.

## Testing

Add regression tests and snapshots for browsing, rewind, cancellation after resize and pagination, custom key bindings, search and selection precedence, offline input, prompt headers, composer tips, and history hydration.

Eric Traut df7f717c85 Add transcript search and per-activity detail controls (#46734)
## What changed

- Add incremental, case-insensitive literal search across transcript details, loading older history as needed. Use `F3` to start Find, or `/` in the transcript pager, and navigate matches in either direction. Closing Find restores the previous presentation and reading position.
- Add clickable activity detail controls and `F4` keyboard focus for inspecting individual activity groups in the owned transcript. Preserve expansion state as live activity becomes history.
- Expose configurable `global.find_transcript`, `global.focus_activity`, and `pager.find` bindings under `tui.keymap`. Let new defaults yield to existing custom bindings and show available completions for pending chords.

## Testing

Add regression coverage for Unicode matching, bounded scanning, paginated and changing history, selection during search, composer input isolation, activity controls, and custom shortcut conflicts.

Eric Traut f1feda2299 Integrate the interactive transcript into the alternate-screen TUI (#46733)
## What changed

- Render transcript history and live output above the composer when `features.transcript_v2` is enabled and alternate-screen rendering is available. Handle scrolling, selection, copying, links, and older-history pagination in the main view.
- Add a clickable return-to-latest control with new-activity hints and temporary clipboard status. Let plain Enter return to latest when the composer is empty.
- Reflow retained transcript content during drawing and preserve the launch-selected screen mode across configuration reloads and session transitions, including `--no-alt-screen` restrictions.
- Enter the alternate screen with its first synchronized frame, and box CLI startup futures to reduce stack usage during session transitions.

## Testing

Add regression coverage for transcript layout, input routing, follow controls, clipboard status, and screen-mode persistence. Add a PTY test for the first alternate-screen frame and clean exit, and extend session-transition coverage through the CLI dispatcher.

Eric Traut 132c2be239 Improve TUI contrast, keyboard hints, and picker layouts (#46680)
## Why

Theme colors and dimmed text can lose contrast against terminal and shaded backgrounds. Pickers also need to keep controls and the selected result visible when space is limited.

## What changed

- Add shared blue accents and contrast-aware foregrounds that account for painted backgrounds and terminal color depth, with terminal-default fallbacks for limited palettes.
- Apply readable colors to footer text, status lines, prompt attachment labels, and diff content. Remove dimming from syntax-highlighted diff text so it does not undo contrast correction.
- Use compact shortcut labels such as `ctrl+c`, emphasize complete key combinations, and separate composer footer actions with ` · `.
- Add an opt-in picker presentation with full-width selection, filled tabs, separate overflow indicators, and navigation based on visible rows. Enable it for `/keymap`, reserving result space to keep controls stable across filtering and tab changes.

## Testing

Add regression tests and snapshots for contrast after palette conversion, shaded diff backgrounds, shortcut typography, picker resizing and pagination, Unicode tab truncation, and stable `/keymap` geometry.

Eric Traut ce03f22af6 Add a configurable F8 shortcut for voice conversations (#46071)
## What changed

- Bind `F8` to start or stop a voice conversation through the existing voice toggle handler, preserving its start guards and the composer draft.
- Expose `tui.keymap.chat.toggle_voice` in the configuration schema and keymap picker, with support for remapping, unbinding, and key chords.
- Let the default yield to existing `F8` bindings and overlapping chord prefixes, and validate explicit bindings against shortcut conflicts and reserved text input.
- Handle the shortcut only on key presses when no modal or popup is active.

## Testing

Add tests for default and custom bindings, conflicts, chord dispatch, live remapping and unbinding, draft preservation, start guards, and popup and key-event handling. Add a snapshot for the voice shortcut editor.

Eric Traut 6f39a47bb3 Add worktree session creation to the agents overview (#45276)
## What changed

- Add a configurable `new_worktree` action, bound to `w`, for local sessions with worktree support enabled.
- Create the worktree from the cached project default branch, preferring remote `HEAD` and falling back to conventional `main` or `master` refs without fetching. Preserve the selected subdirectory and source checkout edits.
- Start and bind a blank session in the new worktree, preserving the selected approval reviewer without sending an initial turn.
- Show creation progress, pause conflicting actions, clean up unclaimed clean worktrees, and report retained checkout paths when session startup fails. Clear pending creation state on reconnect.

## Testing

Add coverage for default-branch selection, source checkout preservation, session ownership and approval settings, cleanup, startup failures, reconnect state, and busy-state rendering. Extend Git environment isolation coverage and test unrelated non-UTF-8 refs.

Eric Traut 516f2780fd Open new sessions directly from the command center (#45255)
## What changed

- Replace the inline task composer with a session list: `n` opens a blank session in the selected checkout without sending an initial turn or interrupting running agents.
- Use single-letter action shortcuts and `Enter` to open a session. `Esc` cancels search or rename without closing the list; `Ctrl+C` quits from the list.
- Load destination settings for new sessions while carrying over explicit permission choices. Retain blank sessions and their drafts across navigation until the first turn.

## Testing

Update tests and snapshots for command center navigation, shortcuts, blank draft restoration, destination defaults, permission carryover, and directory trust.

Eric Traut b348fc2667 Add archive and delete actions to the agents overview (#44433)
## What changed

- Add `Ctrl+E` to archive the selected task and its child agents, and `Delete` to permanently delete their history. Both actions require confirmation, with Cancel selected by default.
- Expose `agents.archive` and `agents.delete` in keymap configuration and the shortcut picker. Default bindings yield to existing custom bindings and chords.
- Show progress while requests run, keeping rendering responsive and blocking task switching. Refresh overview state afterward and keep the dashboard open when the current task is removed.
- Report failures and preserve the current attachment and draft when a rejected operation leaves the task loaded.

## Testing

Add coverage for confirmation and cancellation, active and background task removal, child-agent attachments, stale refresh invalidation, failure recovery, and draft preservation. Add progress input-isolation tests, shortcut conflict tests, and snapshots for confirmation, errors, progress, and keymap rendering.

Benjamin Carlsson 45305dd229 Make the voice mute shortcut configurable in the TUI (#43690)
## Why

Voice mute used a hard-coded `Ctrl+X` shortcut and footer hint, so keymap customization could not change or disable it.

## What changed

- Wire `tui.keymap.chat.toggle_voice_mute` into runtime keybindings and the keymap picker, supporting custom keys, chords, and unbinding.
- Keep `Ctrl+X` as the default, but let existing configured shortcuts and overlapping chord prefixes take precedence. Validate explicitly configured mute bindings for conflicts.
- Activate voice chords only when the microphone shortcut is available, excluding pagers and overlays.
- Refresh the voice footer when bindings change, showing the configured shortcut or `/voice mute` when unbound.

## Testing

Add regression tests for binding resolution, conflicts, voice chord context, and live keymap updates. Add footer snapshots covering custom keys, chords, and unbinding in muted and listening states at wide and narrow widths.

Ian MacLeod 6ae8dcf6e1 Add TUI building blocks for inline async question editing (#42889)
## What changed

- Introduce an async-question editor component with per-question drafts, navigation, replay deduplication, and submit or queue handling using the shared composer.
- Add bounded `AnsweredQuestion` framing that truncates question text at a UTF-8 boundary and flattens line breaks before prepending it to an answer.
- Add `prompt_stack_back` and `skip_question` keybinding actions and the `tui.question_esc_back` setting. Normalize `Ctrl+]` and `Ctrl+5` for key matching and conflict detection, and let default question shortcuts yield to explicit bindings.
- Flush buffered typing in both the main composer and the covering view so background input cannot keep the draw loop waiting.

The async-question component is not yet connected to the TUI event flow.

## Testing

Add regression coverage for bounded Unicode question framing, question-shortcut conflicts, and paste-buffer flushing in background and covering editors.

Benjamin Carlsson 1d6727c0b5 Recover Vim escape input in legacy terminals (#42584)
## Why

Legacy terminals encode `Alt` plus a character the same way as `Esc` followed
by that character. In Vim insert or replace mode, typing a command immediately
after `Esc` could therefore leave the composer in the wrong mode.

## What changed

Recover ambiguous input as separate `Esc` and character events when Vim mode
can consume the escape. Preserve active `Alt` bindings, key chords, image
paste, agent navigation, enhanced-key terminals, and AltGr input.

## Testing

Add coverage for recovered Vim commands and for each shortcut and terminal

- Add the configurable `vim_normal.redo` action to the keymap schema and picker. Preserve reverse prompt-history search in Vim insert mode and non-Vim mode, and honor explicitly configured bindings.
- Keep pending edit snapshots outside the shared undo/redo byte budget so canceled commands cannot evict committed history.

## Testing

## Why

Composer drafts include attachments, mention targets, and deferred paste payloads in addition to visible text. Vim undo needs to restore that complete state as a single edit.

## What changed

- Add bounded, draft-level Vim undo history, with `u` as the configurable default binding in normal mode.
- Group complete Vim commands and insert sessions into undo steps, including direct composer changes such as pastes and attachments.

Benjamin Carlsson d47e5cc0e2 Add Vim buffer jump motions (#40958)
## What changed

- Add `gg` and `G` motions to jump to the first and last buffer lines.
- Support the motions with delete, change, and yank operators, including dot-repeat for edits.
- Expose normal-mode and operator-motion bindings in the configurable keymap while preserving conflicting user bindings.

## Testing

- Cover buffer jumps, operator combinations, repeat behavior, chord routing, and custom remapping.

Benjamin Carlsson 98ee29c7cd Add Vim character find and till motions (#40785)
## What changed

- Add line-local `f`, `F`, `t`, and `T` motions to Vim normal mode.
- Support the motions with `c`, `d`, and `y`, including dot-repeat for changes.
- Expose separate configurable normal-mode and operator-motion bindings, while preserving existing custom keymaps that use the new defaults.
- Keep character targeting aligned to extended grapheme boundaries and skip embedded composer elements.

## Testing

- Cover forward and backward motion and operator ranges, missing and adjacent targets, cancellation, dot-repeat, custom bindings, shifted terminal key events, grapheme clusters, and embedded elements.

Benjamin Carlsson c1db22a3cd Add dot-repeat to Vim mode (#40521)
## What changed

- Bind `.` in Vim normal mode to repeat the last complete edit.
- Record semantic delete, change, replace, paste, and insert-mode actions so repeats preserve motions, text objects, inserted text, and editor actions across keymap changes.
- Expose `vim_normal.repeat_last_change` in the configurable keymap and keymap picker, including conflict handling for existing custom bindings.

## Testing

- Add coverage for repeating deletes, replacements, complete changes, pasted and literal text, insert-mode editor actions, custom bindings, unavailable motions, and cleared buffers.

Eric Traut 2aaefa32b0 Add keybindings for cycling TUI permission modes (#39873)
## What changed

- Add unbound `previous_permission_mode` and `next_permission_mode` actions to
`tui.keymap.chat` so users can configure shortcuts that cycle through the
  available built-in permission modes.
- Apply shortcut selections only to the active session, without writing them
to `config.toml`, and report update failures in the transcript.
- Exclude modes disallowed by managed requirements or platform safety checks,
reject printable-key bindings, and ignore these bindings in project config.

## Testing

- Cover mode cycling, unavailable modes, session-only updates, server errors,
stale threads, keymap validation, and project-config sanitization.

Benjamin Carlsson 631d5a8b02 Expand Vim change commands and add character replacement (#39661)
## What changed

- Add the configurable `vim_normal.replace_char` action, bound to `r` by default, to replace the grapheme under the cursor while remaining in normal mode.
- Support change-operator motions such as `cw`, `c$`, `cj`, and `ck`, plus the repeated `cc` command for changing the current line.
- Let `Esc` cancel a pending replacement before it reaches composer-level handling.
- Preserve existing custom Vim bindings and chord prefixes when introducing the new default.

## Testing

- Cover replacement, grapheme boundaries, remapping and unbinding, change motions, cancellation, keymap conflicts, and keymap picker snapshots.

Eric Traut f47f77ada6 Add configurable shortcuts for the agents dashboard (#39142)
## What changed

- Add `tui.keymap.global.open_agents`, defaulting to `alt-a`, to open the shared agents overview.
- Add an `agents` keymap context for search, new task, rename, stop, and grouping actions.
- Expose the new actions in the keymap picker and render dashboard hints from the resolved bindings.
- Preserve existing custom `alt-a` bindings by disabling the new default when it would conflict.

## Testing

- Cover remapping, reserved keys, conflicts, and compatibility with existing bindings.
- Verify that configured dashboard shortcuts act on the selected filtered task.

Benjamin Carlsson 9bfaf7a076 Share editor keymaps across TUI composer components (#38837)
## What changed

- Store the editor portion of `RuntimeKeymap` in an `Arc` so the chat composer
and its embedded textarea use the same keymap snapshot.
- Initialize the textarea from the composer's default runtime keymap and keep
custom binding updates shared between both components.
- Use copy-on-write when tests and binding resolution need to mutate editor
  bindings.

## Testing

- Verify that applying custom editor bindings shares the same keymap allocation
  with the composer and textarea.

Felipe Coury 1e85ca099e Support two-stroke TUI key chords (#36511)
## What changed

- Accept two-stroke bindings such as `ctrl-x ctrl-s` in TUI keymap configuration while preserving arrays as alternative bindings.
- Route chords through the active TUI context, show pending and configured chord hints, and cancel pending chords on `esc`, context changes, or a one-second timeout.
- Extend `/keymap` to capture, add, replace, and display key chords.
- Reject chords that conflict with active single-key bindings, overlapping-context chords, or reserved terminal shortcuts.

## Testing

- Add coverage for chord parsing, validation, matching, timeout and cancellation behavior, context dispatch, key capture, and rendered shortcut hints.
