## What changed
- Include `codex-exec-server` in canonical CLI and app-server packages and advertise its path through `execServer` in `codex-package.json`.
- Build and sign the executor in release workflows, preserve signed prebuilt inputs, and verify packaged signatures. Use empty entitlements for the macOS executor.
- Have installers check for the executor when package metadata advertises it, while continuing to accept older packages.
- Omit the standalone executor and its manifest entry from npm packages to stay within npm's package size limit. Keep `codex exec-server` and its runtime helpers available.
## Testing
Add package smoke tests for executor initialization, version reporting, filesystem and process sandbox enforcement, and invalid-argument/configuration parity with `codex exec-server`. Extend archive, npm staging, and macOS signing tests to cover executor contents, executable permissions, preserved bytes, and entitlement verification.

## What changed
- Remove the standalone executor from CLI and app-server packages, release binary lists, and Bazel runtime archives.
- Remove the package builder's `--exec-server-bin` option and `execServer` metadata, along with executor-specific installer checks, signing configuration, and package smoke tests.
- Keep the standalone executor available to build from source.

## What changed
- Build and bundle the standalone executor in `bin/` for both package variants, and advertise its path through `execServer` in `codex-package.json`.
- Include the executor in Cargo and Bazel release packaging, macOS signing and notarization, and Windows signing verification. Preserve prebuilt signed binaries during packaging.
- Make installers detect a missing advertised executor while continuing to accept older packages without it.
## Testing
Add coverage for executor archive contents and executable permissions, signed binary preservation, and macOS entitlement verification. Add package smoke tests for initialization, version reporting, filesystem and process sandbox enforcement, and startup error parity with `codex exec-server`.

## Why
A replacement daemon PID can appear before the TUI observes the disconnect, allowing stale UI content to make the startup test advance too early. Cold Rosetta translation can also consume the startup deadlines for freshly extracted Intel macOS packages on Apple Silicon.
## What changed
- Wait for the reconnect transcript clear before sending `/status` in the daemon startup test.
- Warm both packaged CLI and app-server entrypoints with `--help` when testing `x86_64-apple-darwin` packages on `arm64` hosts. Give each warmup 180 seconds and fail fixture setup if either entrypoint cannot run.

## Why
Cargo and Bazel embed different PDB filenames in the Windows code-mode host executable. The package smoke test must support both names while verifying that the debug symbols match the packaged executable.
## What changed
- Keep the archived PDB and copy it to `codex_code_mode_host.pdb`, allowing `dumpbin /PDBPATH` to resolve either name. Accept either path in the assertion.
- Set `sandbox_workspace_write.writable_roots = []` explicitly in the smoke-test configuration.

## What changed
Add a cross-platform pytest suite that extracts the CLI and app-server
archives and verifies:
- common CLI discovery commands;
- code-mode execution through both packaged entrypoints, including use of each
package's bundled `rg`; and
- the presence and usability of packaged debug symbols on Linux, macOS, and
Windows.
The suite accepts gzip or zstd package archives and isolates its Codex
configuration and state from the invoking environment.
