## What changed
Enable `instant_interrupt` by default so new user input can preempt responses and yield foreground code-mode observations. Keep the feature marked as under development and update feature-policy tests to allow this exception.
Explicitly disable instant interrupts in core, TUI, and Python SDK tests that depend on responses completing before steering or processing subsequent input.

## Why
Clients displaying a saved manual thread order need to list the remaining threads without repeating those already loaded separately.
## What changed
Add optional `excludedThreadIds` to `thread/list` and the generated protocol bindings. Apply exclusions before the result limit, refilling pages until the requested limit is reached or history is exhausted while preserving existing filters and ordering. Clients must send the same exclusions on each page.
Accept up to 100 entries, counting duplicates toward the bound. Reject invalid IDs or oversized lists with JSON-RPC error `-32602` rather than truncating them. Omitted, null, and empty lists preserve existing behavior.
## Testing
Add integration coverage for page refill across database-only and scan/repair paths, archived threads, sort directions, and project/section scopes. Cover duplicate and unknown IDs, the 100-entry boundary, invalid input, and preservation of section order.

## Why
Skill selection and disabled-path matching need to recognize equivalent Windows paths across case and separator differences while preserving literal spaces, `%`, and `#` in native filenames.
## What changed
- Carry `PathUri` through skill metadata, discovery mappings, filesystem lookups, disabled-path sets, and invocation analytics.
- Match linked skill mentions and TUI selections by parsed path identity.
- Use `LegacyAppPathString` for app-server skill paths and regenerate schemas and SDK types, preserving native path strings on the wire.
- Preserve native catalog display paths and ordering. Keep host filesystem probes and configuration writes restricted to host-compatible paths.
## Testing
Add regression tests for Windows path identity and disabled-skill matching, literal filename characters, catalog resource reads, native path ordering, and foreign-path analytics normalization.
GitOrigin-RevId: c212916dc9fef0e7616542726e107f0d6a313267
## What changed
Add `model` and `reasoningEffort` to `subAgentActivity` items for multi-agent v2 spawns. Capture startup settings before the child begins its turn and resolve the reported effort against model metadata, including model defaults, while preserving the child's configured effort.
Carry these fields through live notifications, persisted activity, thread history, and legacy rollout migration. Update the JSON schemas and generated TypeScript and Python types. Older records and other activity kinds retain null values.
## Testing
Add coverage for resolved spawn settings matching the child's request across legacy and paginated history, preserving configured effort, forwarding metadata through events and history, and reading and migrating older records without the new fields.
GitOrigin-RevId: a9e4241ae21bb8db1ead293f78ffba8257cca0ae
## Why
Clients starting delegated work need to attribute descendant turns to the original turn and retain that attribution through completion and history reads.
## What changed
- Accept optional `parentTurnId` and `rootTurnId` in `turn/start`, and expose `rootTurnId` on returned turns and lifecycle notifications.
- Default new turns to their own root when none is supplied. Preserve the active turn's root when steering, ignoring incoming lineage fields.
- Carry root IDs through completion, interruption, recovery, and fork boundaries, and persist them for paginated history reads. Leave unknown roots null in older history.
- Update protocol schemas and generated TypeScript and Python bindings.
## Testing
Extend coverage for default and explicit roots, steering without changing lineage, interrupted and recovered turns, history reads after restart in both history modes, nested fork pagination, and compatibility with older database writers.

## Why
Fast mode previously gated both Fast and Ultra Fast, preventing policies from allowing one while disabling the other.
## What changed
- Add the default-enabled `features.ultrafast_mode` flag and enforce it independently of `features.fast_mode` in service-tier selection, requests, and agent prewarming.
- Filter TUI service-tier commands and selections by the corresponding policy and model catalog support.
- Report `supportsIndependentSpeedModes: true` from `configRequirements/read` and update the protocol schemas and generated bindings. Retain the shared Fast gate when connecting to older servers that omit this capability.
- Preserve legacy cloud speed denials by translating `rbac-fast-mode` fragments with `fast_mode = false` into a denial of both modes, while retaining higher-priority enterprise overrides.
## Testing
Add coverage for all four Fast/Ultra Fast policy combinations in requirements responses and request routing, agent prewarm inheritance, TUI command visibility and saved selections, and legacy cloud denial normalization and override precedence.

## Why
Assistant answer text may be followed by more output or tools. A distinct `partial_answer` phase lets callers represent this separately from commentary and a terminal `final_answer`.
## What changed
- Add `MessagePhase::PartialAnswer` and expose `partial_answer` in the app-server schemas and generated TypeScript and Python types.
- Keep the TUI working indicator visible after partial answers and exclude them from the thread history's final-answer summary field.
- Route partial answers to the speakable channel in realtime V3 BEM-tag mode.
## Testing
Add coverage for phase preservation through serialization, input-message conversion, and SSE item start/completion events. Extend TUI snapshot coverage to verify that partial answers keep the working indicator visible while final answers hide it.
GitOrigin-RevId: 1ae3ad9264b6e36ae1cbe6b93df3d345ab4460e6
## What changed
- Carry opaque `review_target` values through misalignment errors and expose optional `reviewTarget` in the app-server protocol and generated clients. Preserve the value verbatim and redact it from debug output.
- Keep target-based `misalignment_override` metadata on turn requests, preserve it across steering updates, and exclude it from compaction and external MCP metadata. Reject overrides from global Responses metadata while retaining legacy timestamp behavior for per-turn overrides.
## Testing
Extend coverage for error propagation, debug and rollout redaction, steering preservation, and metadata filtering. Verify that automatic compaction omits the review target while turn requests before and after compaction retain it.
GitOrigin-RevId: 8c1abb076a206ff5927a4acc31bd25e3efc2bff9
## What changed
Support `browser_use.extension.request_headers` as a list of `name`/`value` pairs and expose it through `config/requirements/read` as `browserUse.extension.requestHeaders`. Update the generated JSON schemas, TypeScript types, and Python models.
Preserve header values, including template strings, verbatim. Higher-priority requirement layers replace the entire header list, including with an explicit empty list. Redact header values in Rust debug output while retaining them in API serialization.
## Testing
Add coverage for parsing and malformed entries, extension scoping, empty-list overrides, API mapping and read responses, and debug redaction without changing serialized values.
GitOrigin-RevId: 02299e82a91aa863966d0277091bc5e8cc1ebe07
## What changed
- Accept per-environment `skills.required` lists through `environment/add` and `environments.toml`.
- Before inference, require each named skill to be enabled and supplied by the selected environment. Missing skills fail the turn before a model request, including when environment setup fails.
- Stop applying an environment's requirements after it is deselected. Exempt isolated Guardian reviewers, which have no skill catalog.
## Testing
Add tests for available, missing, disabled, and wrong-environment skills, failed environment setup, recovery after deselection, and propagation of TOML requirements to the correct environment.

## What changed
- Remove `namespace_tools` from `ProviderCapabilities` and `namespaceTools` from `ModelProviderCapabilitiesReadResponse`, updating generated schemas and SDK types.
- Preserve tool namespaces and configured collaboration tool namespaces without a provider capability check, and always use Responses Lite tool serialization for Responses Lite requests.
- Gate tool search on `supports_search_tool` and retain the existing image generation and web search checks without requiring a namespace capability.
GitOrigin-RevId: ae1843563736765a40e03a02c41ff5e470018a93
## Why
`additional_tools` response items were excluded from rollout persistence, dropping their tool definitions from saved history.
## What changed
- Persist `additional_tools` items in both legacy and paginated history modes.
- Expose the variant in generated JSON schemas, TypeScript types, and Python models, with an optional `id`, a `role`, and arbitrary JSON tool definitions.
## Testing
Add a recorder round-trip test that verifies tool definitions survive recording and loading in both history modes without parse errors.
GitOrigin-RevId: 0e7c7b1c10401ec6513fb744de642a1cf9e461d7
## Why
`thread/attachment/list` lists attachments for a known thread. Clients also need to find the threads associated with a given attachment identity.
## What changed
Add `thread/attachmentOwner/list` to return owning thread IDs and archive status for an exact `attachmentType` and `identityKey`. Support cursor pagination and an optional `archived` filter, including both archived and non-archived threads by default.
Wire the request through the thread store and update documentation, protocol schemas, and generated TypeScript and Python types. The lookup is limited to the configured thread store and reports current membership, not an atomic resource-cleanup check.
## Testing
Extend app-server integration tests to cover exact type-and-key matching, multiple owners, archive filtering, and invalid cursor rejection.
GitOrigin-RevId: 30f4a20e00243d0023246d465a9b95213b3adeb6
## Why
`codex exec` and the TypeScript SDK need a way to request a Cyber access program for an individual turn. Resuming with an API key can also leave compaction using a saved program that the current credentials cannot access.
## What changed
- Add `--cyber-access-program` with `standard`, `daybreak_blue`, and `daybreak_red`, and expose the equivalent `cyberAccessProgram` turn option and `CyberAccessProgram` type in the TypeScript SDK.
- Apply explicit selections to new, resumed, and prompted fork turns. Override automatic Daybreak selection for that turn without changing the saved choice. Reject the flag for review and forks without a prompt.
- Filter Cyber programs by the built-in OpenAI provider when starting turns and restoring previous-turn settings for compaction.
- Allow previous-model compaction fallback with API-key authentication, comparing both model and program so a program change can trigger a retry with the current pair even when the model is unchanged.
## Testing
Add CLI help, argument parsing, exec, and SDK coverage for per-turn selection and unsupported commands. Extend core tests for API-key compaction retries, denied explicit selections, custom-provider filtering, remote compaction, and WebSocket response reuse.
GitOrigin-RevId: 586f25b621924f3bc509c9a39b39fe2020ff9cd2
## Why
New error variants should not prevent older clients from handling app-server errors.
## What changed
- Deserialize unknown `CodexErrorInfo` strings and objects as `Other` in Rust, while preserving known variants and the `"other"` serialization.
- Allow arbitrary strings and objects in the exported JSON schemas and TypeScript type.
- Update Python SDK generation and generated models to accept unknown error strings and object payloads.
## Testing
Add Rust tests for `"other"` round trips, unknown string and object fallbacks, known structured variants, and rejection of null, boolean, numeric, and array values.
GitOrigin-RevId: 40c17896019924b2ef7970ee2205ea0154d0d1b3
## Why
User goal edits and clears need to reach the model as user instructions, including when a thread is unloaded or history is being compacted. Automatic goal lifecycle updates must not supply user authorization.
## What changed
- Add optional `origin` values of `user` and `automatic` to `thread/goal/set` and `thread/goal/clear`, and mark TUI goal requests as user actions. Omitted origins do not supply user authorization.
- Persist explicit user objective, status, and clear instructions before changing goal state. Recording failures leave goal state unchanged.
- Coordinate goal edits with thread resume, reload stored history under writer ownership, and preserve edits accepted after the compaction input snapshot.
- Update generated protocol schemas and TypeScript and Python bindings.
## Testing
Add coverage for user edits and clears on loaded and unloaded threads, concurrent path-based resume, exclusion of automatic goals from user instructions, preservation of edits during compaction, and recording failures that leave goal state unchanged.
GitOrigin-RevId: d779d7c678a0c32a6ef76975dbe5b1400d1df245
## What changed
Define `thread/prediction/request` with `threadId` and `sourceTurnId`, and `thread/prediction/updated` with a `completed` result containing optional text or a `failed` result.
Update generated JSON schemas, TypeScript types, and Python notification models. Route prediction notifications to their thread in the TUI and ignore them in the chat widget.
The request remains unimplemented and returns a method-not-found error.
GitOrigin-RevId: 09922f583d5c56f808d018121c651dcd92734515
## Why
The app server previously rejected OAuth login for enterprise-managed MCP servers. These servers need an explicit sign-in flow that ties saved authorization to the active Codex user and workspace and prevents canceled or superseded attempts from saving credentials.
## What changed
- Enable enterprise sign-in through `mcpServer/oauth/login` for configured servers with a connected thread, trusted IdP registration, and `features.use_xaa` enabled. Scope shared enterprise credentials by user, workspace, issuer, and client ID.
- Add `loginId` to MCP OAuth login responses and completion notifications, preserving compatibility with older servers that omit it.
- Support enterprise login replacement and `account/login/cancel`, wait for callback listener shutdown before replacement, and recheck account and configuration before saving grants. Fence stale attempts across processes and account changes.
- Remove shared enterprise authorization during account logout and `codex mcp logout`, including when the feature is disabled. Continue account logout if enterprise cleanup fails, and invalidate MCP runtimes on account changes.
Start a fresh session after successful enterprise sign-in to use the saved grant.
## Testing
Add regression coverage for login replacement and cancellation, callback port reuse, account changes during setup, cross-process logout invalidation, persisted workspace policy selection, cleanup failures, and responses from older servers without `loginId`.
GitOrigin-RevId: 7ed4caaab4659ed1e67064262cf5cee48e3a26ac
## Why
Guardian denial-limit interruptions lack a structured error identifying the cause. Make this opt-in because older clients may not recognize the new error in shared history.
## What changed
- Add `auto_review.circuit_break_action = "strict"` to attach `TooManyDenials` to the interrupted turn. The default leaves the error unset.
- Expose `turn.error.codexErrorInfo = "tooManyDenials"` in app-server notifications and saved history, and update protocol schemas and generated types.
- Preserve the warning, denial limit, and interrupted status without emitting a separate error notification.
## Testing
Add an integration test covering omitted, `default`, and `strict` settings, checking warnings, live turn errors, the absence of separate error notifications, and persisted turn errors after restart.
GitOrigin-RevId: cb5d379e64728d4d7b9daf834c13756e4a70db31
## Why
Inspecting one MCP server should not require full-inventory discovery or a separate connection when a thread already has one.
## What changed
- Add optional `serverName` to `mcpServerStatus/list` and update generated schemas and bindings.
- With `threadId`, apply any pending runtime refresh and reuse the thread's current connection and tool catalog, waiting only for the selected server during discovery.
- Without `threadId`, create a discovery connection for only the selected server. Unknown names return an empty page; omitting `serverName` preserves full-inventory discovery.
## Testing
Add a regression test covering both status detail modes, checking that tool metadata is preserved and that status reads do not repeat `initialize` or `tools/list` requests.
GitOrigin-RevId: 1b361b67a993ab45cae493e88c146f50cfaf753a
## What changed
Allow `cursor` to accept an item anchor such as `{"type":"item","itemId":"item-123"}` with a non-empty `turnId`. Ascending pagination returns items after the anchor; descending pagination returns items before it. The anchor itself is excluded, and subsequent pages use the returned opaque string cursor.
Resolve anchors within the requested turn's visible history, including inherited fork history. Reject missing turn IDs and empty, unknown, or out-of-scope item IDs with invalid params (`-32602`). Preserve existing string and null cursor behavior, and update the protocol schemas, TypeScript and Python types, and API documentation.
## Testing
Add protocol round-trip and invalid-shape tests, app-server coverage for anchored pagination and errors, and thread-store coverage for growing turns, reverse pagination, page boundaries, fork visibility, and anchor scope validation.
GitOrigin-RevId: a74cea190d3ff1b44865429f8b0650b793eb688d
## What changed
- Stop sending `includeExtensions=true` when fetching installed plugins and remove extension metadata from remote plugin models.
- Remove `PluginSummary.extensions` and the associated extension declaration types from the app-server protocol.
- Update generated JSON schemas, TypeScript and Python bindings, and precomputed protocol exports to match.
GitOrigin-RevId: 56509437b6bdf58d99badff68e86bcf7f09fe036
## What changed
- Recognize `promax` in authentication, account responses, and backend rate limits; update generated schemas and client types.
- Display `prolite` as “Pro”, `pro` as “Pro (More)”, and `promax` as “Pro (Max)” in account labels, status, and analytics.
- Include Pro Max in experimental context eligibility, paid-plan tooltips, and usage-limit guidance for purchasing credits.
## Testing
Extend coverage for Pro Max plan parsing, account and rate-limit responses, experimental context eligibility, and plan display names. Update the login token test to expect “Pro (More)”.

## What changed
- Recognize `flex_unavailable` in HTTP 429 responses and streamed `error` and `response.failed` events. End normal turns without retries and report `Flex capacity unavailable.`
- Expose `flexUnavailable` through the core and app-server protocols and generated schemas and SDK types.
- Keep Flex capacity failures eligible for Guardian review and sampler retries, with a distinct telemetry classification.
- Map unexpected HTTP responses to `HttpConnectionFailed`, preserving their status codes.
## Testing
Add regression coverage for terminal Flex failures over HTTP, SSE, and WebSocket, HTTP 504 status preservation after a stream retry, and protocol serialization. Update Guardian retry and sampler recovery tests to cover Flex failures.

## What changed
- Request installed-plugin metadata with `includeExtensions=true` and carry optional `extensions` through the cache into `PluginSummary`.
- Add typed declarations for global, settings, thread, and file entrypoints, quick actions, settings tools, icons, and search mention providers. Update JSON schemas and TypeScript and Python bindings.
- Accept supported snake_case aliases and emit camelCase fields. Discard incompatible extension declarations without invalidating the installed-plugin inventory.
## Testing
Add an integration test covering extension metadata preservation, field normalization, and unknown entrypoint and quick-action types across live and cached `plugin/installed` reads. Update pagination assertions to require `includeExtensions=true`.
GitOrigin-RevId: b73b0d13c151a30dc1fb9cda70b5cd6d7e3e2441
## What changed
Allow `mcpServer/resource/read` to specify `target: {connectorId, linkId}` for direct hosted app reads without tool discovery, when supported by the backend. Require an explicit `linkId`: a string selects an account, while `null` requests no-auth access subject to backend policy.
Restrict direct targets to `codex_apps` and reject empty connector IDs, empty link IDs, and synthetic link IDs. Preserve originating app/account scope when `originCallId` and `threadId` are supplied, and retain discovery when `target` is omitted.
Update protocol schemas and TypeScript and Python models, preserving required-but-nullable `linkId` semantics in Python code generation.
## Testing
Extend resource-read tests to check target metadata with and without a thread, including explicit no-auth targets and omitted targets. Add Python model tests for string and null `linkId` values and rejection of a missing `linkId`.
GitOrigin-RevId: 8cf5595fbdd937193aeb529901fc95299f6e18ad
## Why
Clients with a gateway sign-in UI need to control when browser authorization starts and inspect credential readiness before making authenticated requests.
## What changed
- Add `initialize.capabilities.explicitGatewayOauth` to require explicit login while allowing existing credentials to refresh. Preserve automatic authorization for clients that omit the capability, and prevent later connections from undoing explicit opt-in.
- Add `account/gatewayOAuth/read`, `account/gatewayOAuth/login`, and `account/gatewayOAuth/cancel`, plus `account/gatewayOAuth/changed` notifications. Send the authorization URL only to the initiating connection and cancel its login on disconnect.
- Check gateway authentication before returning cached results from `model/list`, with restart guidance when provider settings have changed.
- Update protocol schemas, TypeScript and Python bindings, and document capability probing and the sign-in lifecycle.
## Testing
Add tests for passive readiness reads, credential reuse after login, token exchange failures, cancellation and immediate retry, connection ownership, legacy versus explicit login, and model-list authentication checks.
GitOrigin-RevId: a26e116a62c9f3db84dc238a40b7f4e816eb1594
## What changed
Add nullable `httpOrigin` to `McpServerStatus`, derived from the effective configured endpoint for both configured and plugin-provided servers. Return only the HTTP(S) origin, excluding credentials, path, query, and fragment; return `null` for stdio transports, invalid URLs, and non-HTTP(S) schemes. Update the generated protocol schemas and TypeScript and Python types.
## Testing
Extend status integration tests to cover configured and plugin-provided HTTP servers, verify that endpoint paths and query parameters are omitted, and assert `null` for a stdio server. Update protocol tests to check null serialization and compatibility with older inventory responses.
GitOrigin-RevId: 033ebdeefe829e3a48b2d4ab7d8866dac4cda5c5
## What changed
- Persist producer-recorded item start and completion times in thread history, preserving existing non-null values on updates.
- Return nullable `startedAtMs` and `completedAtMs` Unix millisecond timestamps from `thread/items/list`, and update the generated schemas and TypeScript and Python types.
- Leave timestamps unknown for existing rows and older writers.
## Testing
Add coverage for exact timestamp persistence, protocol round trips with present and missing timestamps, paginated item responses, and compatibility with older database writers.

## What changed
- Remove the private-desktop opt-out from elevated and unelevated Windows sandbox launches.
- Remove `windows.sandbox_private_desktop` and its managed requirement and API fields. Warn users to remove the obsolete setting.
- Require a private desktop name when launching through the Windows sandbox wrapper and command runner.
## Testing
Add coverage for the obsolete-setting migration warning and update wrapper tests to verify a live private desktop is passed and a missing desktop name is rejected.
GitOrigin-RevId: c7135f8d211aac8d812180691c2c1e433d77cde4
## What changed
Add an optional `onboardingSkill` summary to `plugin/read` responses and update the generated schemas, TypeScript types, and Python models.
- Resolve local declarations from `extensions["com.openai"].onboardingSkill`, accepting relative paths with or without `./`. Require the resolved path to stay within the plugin root and match a loaded skill.
- Match remote release metadata's `onboarding_skill_name` against the plugin's skills.
- Return the summary only when the plugin and matching visible skill are enabled; remote plugins must also be available. Otherwise, return `null`.
## Testing
Add parameterized local and remote `plugin/read` tests covering matching, missing, and unmatched declarations, disabled plugins and skills, and unavailable remote plugins.
GitOrigin-RevId: 88cabdfddbecba5efba756617da0cb1ff064bdf7
## Why
Server-level tool exposure settings apply to every connector on the apps server. Individual connectors need a way to opt out of deferred discovery without changing exposure for other apps.
## What changed
Add `apps.<connector_id>.omit_tools_from` with support for `code_mode`, `deferred`, and `direct`. Combine connector omissions with server omissions so app settings preserve server restrictions.
For example, `omit_tools_from = ["deferred"]` makes a connector's tools available without tool search, through direct calls or Code Mode as permitted by the active tool mode and remaining restrictions.
Expose the setting in the app-server protocol, JSON schemas, and generated TypeScript and Python types.
## Testing
Add integration coverage for connector-specific exposure and MCP dispatch across tool modes, server restrictions, and direct-only namespaces. Extend config tests to cover populated, absent, and empty omission lists, and add a Code Mode request-history snapshot.
GitOrigin-RevId: cc99ab290c8a878d06d8d7ccf2d1dbd7c46bfa8a
## What changed
- Accept and ignore `features.personality` in user configuration, profiles, and managed requirements.
- Remove feature gating from `personality = "none"`, which strips the literal `# Personality` section when preparing model catalog instructions. Preserve explicit base instructions and existing thread instructions.
- Document deprecated personality fields in configuration, app-server schemas, and the Python SDK: `friendly` and `pragmatic` no longer select a style, and `supportsPersonality` is always `false`.
## Testing
Add regression coverage for ignored legacy flag values and managed requirements, personality opt-out behavior with the flag absent or set to either value, role overrides, and preservation of explicit base instructions, including empty strings.
GitOrigin-RevId: 4e12c66b42bfc59d6f151a5b3c28fadc6654ae99
## Why
Clients need widget presentation details to render MCP Apps without waiting for the full MCP catalog, including when replaying saved history.
## What changed
- Add `mcpToolCall.mcpAppUi` with the invoked descriptor's `resourceUri` and `preferredModelDisplayMode`, and carry it through tool-call events and saved history.
- Support `fullscreen` and default to `inline` when the display preference is missing or unsupported.
- Keep existing resource URI fields for compatibility. Leave `mcpAppUi` null for older history and tools that declare widgets only in result metadata, where clients still use catalog discovery.
- Update protocol schemas, TypeScript and Python types, and app-server documentation.
## Testing
Add parameterized integration coverage for fullscreen, missing and unsupported preferences, legacy URI metadata, and result-only widgets, verifying consistent tool events and preservation across session resume.

Keep the existing public class name for URL-based image input when regenerating the SDK. Map `UrlUserInput` to `ImageUserInput` during artifact generation and update the generated model and `UserInput` union accordingly.
Extend the class-name stability test to assert that `ImageUserInput` remains importable under its expected name.
GitOrigin-RevId: 6cbbd555e2e07904cc5fbc279e1e61ff089ac0a9
## What changed
- Accept `fileId` alongside the existing `url` form for app-server image inputs, and forward file references to the Responses API as `file_id`. Update generated schemas and client types.
- Preserve file references, image detail hints, and mixed inline/file image ordering through user-message events, thread history, and rollout migration. Retain file images when truncating tool output.
- Pass file references through image preparation without resolving them, while keeping resize-notice numbering correct. Omit them from unsupported TUI display and Guardian image context.
- Reject image-edit requests whose recent-image window includes a file reference, preventing selection of an older inline image instead.
## Testing
Add coverage for serialization, request and rollout preservation, mixed-image history ordering, incomplete ordering metadata, tool-output truncation, and rejection of unsupported image-edit selections.

## Why
`allowedWindowsSandboxImplementations` uses the legacy setup-mode type, which cannot represent `mxc`.
## What changed
- Introduce `WindowsSandboxImplementation` with `elevated`, `unelevated`, and `mxc` variants for configuration requirements, and update the generated schemas and TypeScript and Python types.
- Keep `WindowsSandboxSetupMode` limited to `elevated` and `unelevated`, and update the requirements mapping and its test assertions to use the new type.
- Document that clients selecting `mxc` skip the legacy setup and readiness APIs and use the standard `command/exec` streaming and process-control path.

## What changed
Represent images in `ContentItem` and `FunctionCallOutputContentItem` with `ImageReference::Inline`, flattened to preserve the existing `image_url` wire format. Update image producers and consumers and regenerate app-server schemas and SDK artifacts.
Preserve the Python SDK's `InputImageContentItem` and `InputImageFunctionCallOutputContentItem` class names during generation.
## Testing
Add a regression test for stable Python image class names and adapt existing image tests to the shared representation.

## What changed
- Add experimental `account/read.workspaceRouting` metadata containing the selected ChatGPT workspace ID, resolved HTTPS backend origin, and routing override (`us`, `us_cr`, or `NO_CONSTRAINT`).
- Discover and cache routing through `accounts/check` for saved logins, new logins, and workspace switches. Return `null` for signed-out accounts, API-only accounts, and saved credentials without a selected workspace.
- Validate discovered origins against required `chatgpt_base_url` origins. Return errors for failed or malformed discovery and retry on later reads.
- Wait for requirements and routing before publishing account updates, including to newly initialized connections. Clear routing on logout, discard stale discovery results, and guard queued notifications against account changes.
## Testing
Add unit and integration coverage for origin resolution and validation, discovery failures and retries, startup discovery, workspace switching, logout, configuration changes during discovery, and authentication changes while notifications wait for queue capacity.

## Why
The Windows release workflow builds an extra package archive only to extract it again when staging the Python runtime wheel. Reuse the package directory to avoid this round trip.
## What changed
- Allow `stage-runtime` to accept a Codex package directory as well as a `.tar.gz` archive, with the same package layout validation.
- Reject overlapping source and staging directories, symlinks, and non-regular directory entries before staging.
- Stage Windows runtime wheels from the existing package directory and retain the check that voice resources are absent.
## Testing
Add coverage for matching directory and archive output, including file permissions, source preservation, invalid layouts, non-regular entries, overlapping directories, and CLI handling of both source formats.

## Why
Resuming a thread initialized its collaboration mode to Default, losing the saved Plan mode and its developer instructions. Reconnecting clients also lacked a server-reported mode to reconcile changes made by another client.
## What changed
- Restore the saved collaboration mode from the latest matching `ThreadSettingsApplied` event, falling back to the last legacy `TurnContext`. Apply the effective model and reasoning effort while retaining the saved mode and developer instructions.
- Include `collaborationMode` in `thread/resume` responses and update the generated schemas and bindings.
- Use the restored mode in the TUI, including the first prompt after resume. Prefer the server's mode when restoring disconnected input, while preserving the local selection for older servers that omit it.
## Testing
Add regression coverage for persisted and legacy collaboration modes, model and reasoning-effort overrides, the resumed Plan mode display and first prompt, and reconnect behavior with and without a server-reported mode.

## Why
Configuration requirements did not report which login methods the running app server permits after applying managed policy, forced login settings, and workspace restrictions.
## What changed
- Add `allowedLoginMethods` to `configRequirements/read`, using the running authentication manager's effective policy rather than newly read authentication settings.
- Return requirements when login methods are restricted even without managed requirements, while preserving `requirements: null` for the unrestricted default.
- Update protocol schemas and generated TypeScript and Python types. An empty list permits no login method; older servers may omit the field.
## Testing
Add coverage for managed and forced login restrictions, workspace intersections, policy reporting after requirements files change, invalid login methods, and API-only Amazon Bedrock without ChatGPT requests. Extend tests for conflicting authentication requirements and cloud policy precedence.

## What changed
Replace the selectable personality templates in the bundled `gpt-5.4` and `gpt-5.5` definitions with fixed friendly instructions. Personality selection becomes unavailable for these models in the TUI, and submitted turns omit the personality override. Remove personality overrides from Python SDK examples and the walkthrough notebook.
## Testing
Update core and TUI tests to cover fixed friendly instructions, ignored pragmatic updates, unavailable personality selection, and omitted turn overrides. Preserve coverage for selectable personalities in legacy catalogs, and add coverage for resumed legacy sessions and explicit empty instruction overrides.

## What changed
Remove `thread/rollback`, its request and response types, generated bindings, and the core `Op::ThreadRollback` operation. Requests now follow the generic unknown-method rejection path. Document `thread/revert` as the alternative for paginated threads.
Keep historical `ThreadRolledBack` markers and legacy error deserialization so existing rollouts remain compatible with replay and migration.
## Testing
Adapt retained-context and Guardian history tests to append legacy rollback markers and resume threads, preserving coverage of surviving instructions, answers, and review history.

## What changed
- Accept `disabledPluginIds` in `thread/settings/update` and `turn/start`. A supplied list replaces the saved selection; omission or `null` preserves it, and `[]` clears it.
- Return the selection in thread start, resume, and fork responses and `thread/settings/updated` notifications. Update generated schemas and client types.
- Restore disabled plugin IDs from the history retained at the requested fork boundary, preserving explicit overrides.
The selection persists across resume but does not yet filter plugin capabilities.
## Testing
Add coverage for replacing, preserving, and clearing selections without inference; turn-start notifications; resume; and fork boundaries across legacy and paginated history, with loaded and restarted parents. Add a core regression test for history restoration and explicit clearing.

## What changed
Carry optional `available_access_programs` metadata through model information, presets, caches, and the TUI, and expose it as `availableAccessPrograms` in app-server `model/list` responses. Update the generated JSON schemas, TypeScript types, and Python models.
Preserve the distinction between missing metadata and an empty `cyber` list. Ignore unknown cyber program names when reading the catalog so new server programs do not prevent older clients from loading it. Discovery metadata does not grant access; inference still enforces authorization.
## Testing
Add coverage for absent, null, empty, and populated metadata, unknown program names, and app-server serialization. Extend cache tests and verify that online refreshes persist changed access metadata even when the catalog ETag stays unchanged.

## What changed
Add `serverCapabilities` to `mcpServerStatus/list` responses in both `full` and `toolsAndAuthOnly` modes, including thread-scoped reads. Return the initialized server's capabilities object, including its `extensions` map, or `null` when unavailable.
Capture capabilities during initialization so they remain available when tool discovery fails. Clear them on each new connection attempt and keep them independent of shared tool caches. Update the protocol schemas, generated TypeScript and Python types, and documentation.
## Testing
Add coverage for extension capabilities surviving tool-discovery failures in both detail modes. Extend existing tests to check advertised extensions, absent capabilities after initialization failure, and serialization of unavailable capabilities as `null`.

## What changed
- Support `model_provider` and `model_providers` in managed requirements. Required selection overrides local and session configuration; each required provider definition replaces the corresponding local entry, including its authentication and headers.
- Merge provider requirement fragments before validation, preserving source-relative `auth.cwd` paths. Reject invalid cloud provider definitions before replacing the cached bundle, including unsupported Bedrock overrides.
- Expose `modelProvider` and `modelProviders` through the configuration requirements API and generated schemas. Reject writes to managed provider settings and omit their local origins, including for provider IDs containing dots.
## Testing
Add tests for requirement precedence, authentication fragment merging, path resolution, cloud cache preservation, and read-only configuration RPCs. Integration tests verify that model discovery and inference use the required gateway and ChatGPT authentication without leaking local headers, and that provider requirements survive configuration rebuilds.

## What changed
- Add `thread/attachment/add`, `thread/attachment/list`, and `thread/attachment/remove` to manage durable resource references without loading the owning thread or changing conversation history.
- Identify attachments by thread, `attachmentType`, and `identityKey`. Repeated adds return the existing attachment; repeated removals succeed without emitting another update. Listing supports cursor pagination.
- Broadcast `thread/attachment/updated` after creation or deletion, after responding to the requester. Serialize attachment mutations with thread lifecycle operations and reject stores that do not support attachments.
- Update protocol schemas, TypeScript and Python bindings, documentation, and TUI notification handling so attachment updates do not add untracked threads to the agent picker.
## Testing
Add coverage for unloaded threads, pagination, idempotent addition and removal, reattachment, invalid inputs, unsupported stores, response-before-notification ordering across clients, and TUI notification routing.

## What changed
Make turn event delivery depend on when each consumer attaches:
- Handles returned by `thread.turn(...)` receive events from when the request is sent, including events received before the response arrives.
- Other handles and explicit low-level registrations receive only events from when they join. Remove replay of completed items, token usage, and terminal events; use `thread.read(include_turns=True)` for earlier history.
- Retain unread events for active subscribers and pending starts, release unused turn state, and close the returned subscription when an async start is cancelled.
Preserve the existing low-level subscription when repeated `turn_start(...)` calls return the same turn.
## Testing
Update coverage for late joins, request-time buffering, completion or transport failure before a start returns, async cancellation cleanup, and repeated low-level starts. Adjust external-message integration tests to allow handles to collect different items while receiving the same final response.
