Run 361's Test job failed all 3 attempts with the sccache dead-server signature (sccache fatal error, ENOENT on its own tmp files under target/debug/deps). Retrying the same invocation only helps for transient races; against a wedged server every same-VM retry fails identically — and under the new pipeline that blocks publish and the deploy behind it. Escalate instead: attempt 1 plain, attempt 2 after an sccache server restart, attempt 3 with RUSTC_WRAPPER unset (uncached). A sick cache now costs build minutes, never the deploy. Applied to the lint/test jobs in build-prerelease.yml and ci.yml alike. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
